Today's meeting had a much better outcome, as the class are now split into two groups creating two seperate ideas about the main detention idea. We are now in two groups of 8 or similar numbers, in our group is Me, Ash, Kirk, Matt L, Mike, Dave and Tim.
What we aim to do is to create a simple web series which attracts publicity and views. We aim to advertise the group by posters, leaflets etc and I think now although we are in a smaller group, there is much more work to be done; but it does ensure everyone has a job throughout and therefore should be mainly busy.
After splitting into two groups, we have changed our name of our web series since the other class group kept the detention defecit idea. We have changed our web series name to 'Lines' which like 'Scrubs' or 'Skins' features one particular word which does not relate much to the actual drama. Our name 'Lines' is what we generally thought of after brainstorming, as a student when you are sent to detention the work you are asked to provide is normally lines on a piece of paper. I hope this is an effective name, although with the right publicity and advertising this should be no problem. Our production company name is also Chamber Designs.
Today we created a Youtube, Blogger, Facebook and Twitter, which will be constantly updated throughout our process in the show project, we also aim to create publicity using these. The budget is now £50 for each group, which is half of what we had before, but this should not be a potential problem providing the fact that we keep the idea simple.
My main thoughts about being split into two groups were that it was generally a better idea, eliminating most conflict and issues in the class about ideas for the script, actors etc and general ideas. I think that we will work harder in groups of two as everyone will be assigned one specific job and that will be quite significant.
My main job today was to put up advertisement posters for the auditions for our web series group 'Lines' which is on wednesday the 13th January 12.20 - 2.40. Mike and I put up 30 posters around Long Road college advertising the auditions and willing people to come along if interested, there is also an email they can contact for further information. I think this will attract members for the auditions and was a great idea of advertising.
