We started the day with a meeting, which agreed the main problems for our shoot. These were not enough communication, the director getting a bit confused with the storyboard etc and lateness, attendance and punctutality, as well as people complaining they did not have enough jobs. This led to Dave now being director, although later in the day he would not listen to any of the groups comments, suggestions or advice to help him, and would just make snide comments - lets hope he directs the second episode alright. Kirk is still keeping track of everyone and generally helping and in my opinion he is doing a very good job at this, I simply think he just got a bit confused at things the first time round.
After the meeting we then set off with original tasks. As explained before, Tim and I did a lot in the time we had, we managed to arrange and organise actors by emails, get availability and permission to use room D9, we created a full request form for tomorrow's and friday's shoot and also created a full risk assessment. We also promoted the title sequence on Youtube, Vimeo, Twitter, Facebook and Myspace - which also counts in a way like a teaser trailer as it shows each character and gives a general idea of what the show will be like. I think Matt L did an excellent job on the title sequence and think it promotes the show really well, and links well to our main idea.
The main problem I felt today was that despite moaning about there not being enough jobs to do, people were still not doing the roles they had been asked to. Dave and Ash were asked specifically by Kirk to do a storyboard and or shot list for tomorrow's shoot, but in the end decided to change the script for episode two, which a night before we even film it is far, far too late. This meant the storyboard and shotlist did not get done - which means it is still not completed.
The main website is also not going as well as I'd hoped, when I asked Ash and Dave if they had made one I found that yes, they had, but it had hardly anything on at all. This is not the website we need especially after filming the first episode and having it aired on Thursday. The other problem is that we cannot edit the website at coleridge or in college, as it is done on dreamweaver - which is not good in my opinion - nonetheless if Dave can edit at home this will be good it just means more work for him. It would have been better if we had one that as a group we can all edit, and add photos etc in class time while promoting the website.
Therefore, plans for tomorrow are simply to create some advertisement posters for the launch on Friday, as I think this will generate some more interest. The advertisement posters were my idea and I think sticking them around college etc will help us more in terms of marketing and advertising the web series. Also to generally need help with whatever people feel needs doing, and just to try and do as much work as possible in the time given. I can only hope tomorrow's shoot goes well, and as one main problem in our last shoot was that there were too many people, I may not attend the shoot. Nonetheless, Kirk has asked me to help with background and behind the scenes progress photos, which will mean I will attend the shoot if I am needed - although the last thing I want to do is cause problems, so will leave if people want me to, just generally thinking I could be there to help out but if the group has got it all sorted this will not be a problem.
